On April 1, 2019, Safdar Ali Shah, director general of CEPC HEC of Pakistan visited XJTU and attended a three-day academic activity. On the morning of April 1, he met with XJTU President Wang Shuguo in Room 107 of the XJTU Science Hall.

There are nearly 600 Pakistani students studying in XJTU, ranging from post-doctoral researchers to undergraduates in various disciplines. President Wang Shuguo valued it an honor and also expressed willingness to develop academic exchanges with universities and institutions all over the world. He also expressed appreciation for what the National University of Sciences and Technology of Pakistan (NUST), as a permanent member of the UASR, has contributed to the alliance. Up to now, the UASR has attracted more than 151 universities from 38 countries and regions.
