From September 12-14, the 2019 International Symposium on Forensic Science and Genomics was held in Xi'an under the framework of the UASR’s Forensic Sub-alliance. The Symposium was jointly sponsored by XJTU and the Science and Technology Department of Shaanxi Province, and was organized by the School of Forensic Medicine of XJTU andand the Shenzhen Genomics Institute.

Over 50 well-known experts and scholars from universities and research institutes at home and abroad, including Ottawa University (Canada), Aarhus University (Denmark), Chinese Academy of Sciences, Academy of Forensic Science of Chinese Ministry of Justice, Peking University, Sun Yat-sen University, Suzhou University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Zhengzhou University, China Medical University, etc., attended the conference. With the theme of "Cutting-edge Theories and Technologies of Forensic Science and Genomics”, in-depth exchanges and discussions were held on three topics, namely “Research and Application of Forensic Innovative Technology", "Mechanism, Prevention and Treatment of Drug Dependence" and "Advanced Research and Application of Forensic Genomics", to discuss the future of forensic science and genomics.
