On October 11, 2020, the World’s second “Chinese Medicine Day”, “Belt & Road Intellectual Property Sub-Alliance” of the University Alliance of the Silk Road, The Intellectual Property Research Center of Xi'an Jiaotong University and the Xi’an Han Traditional Culture Research Institute co-hosted a commemoration and discussion activity for the World Chinese Medicine day. The topic of this World Chinese Medicine day was “The fight against the Global Pandemic, Chinese Medicine is on the move”, and the topic of discussion was “propagate Chinese medicine, benefit whole mankind”. Director of the “Belt and Road Intellectual Property Sub-Alliance” of the University Alliance of the Silk Road professor Ma Zhiguo first made a speech expressing his dedication to lead his team to protect and pass down Chinese medicines in their purist forms.

The Belt And Road Intellectual Property Sub-Alliance was formed on the basis of “building an intellectual property cooperation platform, push for the open development of the Belt and Road Initiative”, and is dedicated to promoting communication and cooperation between countries and areas on the path of the Belt and Road Initiative in areas of business communication, talents cultivation, research cooperation, cultural exchange and policy research, serving the development and construction in countries on the Belt and Road Initiative and Eurasian countries.
The organizer of the event, the director of the Belt And Road intellectual property alliance Professor Ma Zhiguo, is the chief expert in the key program of the The National Social Science Fund of China, “Research on the specialist protective policies of the knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine”, and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine’s program “Research on the regulation framework of the protection of Chinese medicine traditions, he took the work on Chinese medicine very seriously, giving them relevant policy and legal assistances. Professor Ma Zhiguo believe that China, on the coronavirus pandemic, had developed an effective treatment plan by combining Chinese and western medicines, this is providing “Eastern wisdom” and “Chinese strengths” for the global pandemic prevention and control effort.
