From November 21st to 22nd, the opening ceremony of the Center for Asia-Europe Studies and the "Silk Road" global governance symposium – the training course for "Introduction to Global Governance" jointly organized by Xi’an Jiaotong University, China University of Political Science and Law, and Peking University were held in Xi’an Jiaotong University.
On November 21st, more than 30 experts and scholars from more than 10 universities including the University of Hong Kong, Lanzhou University, Shaanxi Normal University and Xi’an International Studies University attended the conference.
At the opening ceremony of the conference, Vice President Rong Mingzhe of Xi’an Jiaotong University, delivered a speech. He pointed out that the center should focus on the Belt and Road Initiative. It should carry out in-depth scientific research, build academic brands, and enhance the comprehensive innovation capacity of national and regional research concerning the new situation and new problems in the field of global governance in surrounding countries along the silk road economic belt. At last, the center should aim to serve for the development of the western region of high-end talents cultivation base and famous international academic research, a think-tank, power of China's economic globalization environment influences the realization of global governance.
After the opening ceremony, more than 20 participants held discussions on three topics: "Theory and Practice of Global Governance", "the Belt and Road Initiative and Opening Up to the Outside World”, and "Asia-Europe cooperation and its future prospects".
On the afternoon of Nov.22, 2020, the fourth national university training course for "Introduction to Global Governance" was successfully held. More than 50 young teachers from universities and research institutes around the country attended the event, and more than 100 teachers were learning online simultaneously.
