On December 11th, 2020 Silk Road International Symposium on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application of Energy & Chemicals was held in Xi’an Jiaotong University, Innovation Harbor. More than 200 experts from 30 colleges, academies, and relevant businesses attended the meeting through online or offline approach.
Liu Baoping, deputy director, Shaanxi Provincial Education Department; Li Tiantai, President of Xi’an Petroleum University; Xi Guang, vice president of Xi’an Jiaotong University; He Changzhong, Chief of International Cooperation and Exchange Department; and directors of the Energy Science and Technology Sub-alliance and the Chemical Engineering and Technology Sub-alliance were present in the opening ceremony.
Vice President Xi Guang warmly welcomed all the online and offline guest, and showed heartfelt gratitude towards higher authorities of Ministry of Education and Shaanxi Province for their instructions and supports. He expressed the commitment of XJTU to deeply integrate with the society, addressing social issues, leading society step ahead.
Deputy director Liu Baoping showed welcome to the meeting and experts on behalf of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee Education Working Committee and Provincial Department of Education and expressed his expectation of the contribution this cooperation will make to the post-epidemic world.
Wei Jinjia, dean, the School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Xi’an Jiaotong University and Zhang Zaoxiao, party secretary, gave their welcome speeches respectively as the representatives of academies, Doctoral Joint Training Project mentors and corporations.
After that, 20 experts from online and offline held heated discussion on the topic of technological development of the exploitation of green energy, the advanced energy industry, the efficient utilization of fossil energy, and the international industry, education, research and application.
The meeting encouraged and motivated the gradual recovery of international cooperation and exchange in the post-pandemic era and all the participants wished Innovation Harbor become an important base of global scientific and technological innovation and international cooperation in industry, education, research and application.
