On April 21 to 22, Advanced Manufacturing Sub-Aliance of UASR held an online Workshop on Design and Innovation in Automotive Engineering. The Joint Workshop is one of the academic activities carried out by Xi’an Jiaotong University(XJTU) and Politecnico di Milano (Polimi) to strengthen cooperation on mechanical engineering and led by School of Mechanical Engineering at XJTU.

Prof. Marco Bocciolone, Dean of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Politecnico di Milano, and Prof. Wei Xueyong, Deputy Director of the Department of International Collaboration and Exchanges of Xi’an Jiaotong University, delivered speeches on behalf of the two parties. They briefly reviewed the history of cooperation between the POLIMI and XJTU. The academic exchange meeting and the expression of cooperation and development prospects in the field of mechanical engineering were positively evaluated. A total of 15 experts and scholars from both sides in related fields gave wonderful academic reports on line, and over 70 people participated in the exchange meeting.

After the workshop, the two parties also exchanged views on cooperation projects on the field of vehicle engineering. Meanwhile the captains of the Racing Teams from both sides introduced the development and current situation respectively, and made clear the intention of exchange and cooperation.

The workshop is planned to be held twice a year. The second workshop will be held at the end of 2021.
