The Great Silk Road connected East and West. This transcontinental connection developed not only trade between peoples, but also societal and cultural relationships. Currently, it is important to increase the literacy of students, which are located on the Great Silk Road, about the material and non-material riches, tourism, dimplomatic and friendly relations, as well as about the cultural values of these people and nations. An essay competition will be conducted among the students in order to implement into reality the intentions and dreams of our ancestors, and hail the values, which were common to our ancestors and respect history.
The Fund for Support of Talented Youth of the Republic of Uzbekistan "Ulugbek" together with the Samarkand State University(UASR’smember-university) announce the International Essay Competition on the topic “The Hub Along The Great Silk Road between Europe and Asia”. Details of the International Essay Competition are as follows:
Essay competition topics:
• Great Silk Road – the phenomenon of the history and culture
• Intercultural communication on the Great Silk Road
• “One Belt – one Road”, as a center of regional and interregional communication
• Great Silk Road – as an indication of the non-material cultural heritage
• Great Silk Road – the highway of the international cultural heritage
• Open topic
The themes of the competition include:
1. Great Silk Road restoration
2. Great Silk Road and modernity
3. The modern Great Silk Road
4. The renewed Great Silk Road
5. The Reneissance of the Great Silk Road
Participants:
The students studying at the Universities, which are members of the Great Silk Road Association are allowed to participate in this competition.
Requirements:
When submitting the essays for the competition “The Hub Along The Great Silk Road between Europe and Asia”, it is important to indicate the name, university, country and address of the participant. The articles should be 3-5 pages long composed in Times New Roman(font 12) and it should be devoted to some modern problem of Science,Education or Culture.
Language of essay:
Uzbek, English and Russian
Evaluation:
The submitted essays will be scored by the team of international representatives from the universities of the Great Silk Road Association. The winners will be announced and awarded in May 2021.
Awards of Participants:
The authors of the ten best essays will be awarded with the trip to the Jewel of the East - the city of Samarkand. The winners will also be announced in mass media, and on web pages of all universities of the association of the Great Silk Road. The winners will also receive diplomas and certificates.
